Chikankari embroidery and mukaish detailing are delicate. Dry cleaning helps retain the weave, colour, and sparkle.
2. Gentle Hand Wash (Only if Needed)
If you prefer washing at home:
→ Use cold water
→ Mild liquid detergent
→ No soaking
→ Do not rub or scrub the embroidery.
3. Handle Mukaish With Care
Avoid wringing, twisting, or heavy folding — mukaish threads can tug if handled roughly.

Never dry in harsh sun — it can fade the colour and weaken the Kota weave.
6. Store in a Cotton/Muslin Bag
Kota needs breathability. Avoid plastic or sealed covers.
7. Refold Every Few Months
This prevents pressure marks and keeps the saree in its natural fall.
Ironing
Use a low-heat setting (silk/cotton mode).
Iron on the reverse side, especially over mukaish and embroidery.
Place a thin cotton cloth while ironing to protect detailing.

Kota with chikankari is light, airy, and handmade — small variations are a sign of craft, not flaw. With gentle care, it stays soft, graceful, and timeless.
